Scott Adams - Deacon

Visitation, Fellowship, and Finance

Scott Adams was born in Dothan, Alabama and grew up there and in Blakely, Georgia. His father, Billy, was a farmer and his mother, Sandra Taunton, was a housewife. Scott is a Certified Public Accountant and works for Albemarle Corporation. Scott enjoys supporting his daughters in their activities, preparing tax returns in the spring, and going to see the Crimson Tide play football in the fall. His wife, Gwynne, grew up in the church of Christ. Scott grew up attending the Methodist church and began attending the church of Christ with Gwynne while they were dating. Scott and Gwynne met in 1983 while attending college at Southeastern Louisiana University. They were married in 1986 in Bogalusa, LA. They spent the first three and a half years of their marriage in Grand Forks, ND while he was serving in the US Air Force. Her interests are keeping up with the girls, flower gardening and crafts. Scott and Gwynne have three daughters: Aimee (16), Brandee (14) and Casee (12). Scott and his family started attending Goodwood in May 2000. Scott was installed as a deacon at Goodwood in February 2005. Scott works particularly in the areas of fellowship/visitation and finance. The most special moment they have experienced while attending Goodwood was Brandee’s baptism. As a family, they enjoy the congregational meals and fellowshipping before and after church. Scott enjoys attending the men’s breakfast and the girls enjoy camp and other youth activities. The Scott Adams family looks forward to continue serving at Goodwood and further developing our relationships with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
