Jim Lackie was born in San Bonito, Texas and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. His parents, Joe and Candy Lackie, are both retired. Jim works at Kean and Miller as an attorney in partnership working especially in commercial litigation. He enjoys golf, motorcycle riding, fishing, hunting, scuba diving, astronomy, and history. Jim was baptized on March 31, 1966 at the North Blvd. church by Harvey Starling. He credits his parents, his grandfather, and Bob Hendron with playing important roles in his coming to faith. Joe met Karen at Harding University in 1974. Karen enjoys sewing, golf, motorcycle riding, painting, spending time with Jim, and encouraging others. Jim and Karen have two children: Nathan and Anna. As a family they enjoy traveling, camp, ballgames, and eating out.
The Lackie family came to Goodwood eight years ago. Jim has served as an elder for the past seven years. He was very humbled to be asked to serve in this role. He enjoys teaching and cherishes the fact that both of his children were baptized here. He appreciates serving with spiritual people, the attitude of the congregation towards the work here, and the way that this congregation responds to challenges.
