Goodwood Church of Christ

Doug came to the Goodwood church in June 2004. Beginning church work at the age of 14, he has served with a number of congregations in various roles as he has continued his education. Doug is married to Kristi Johnson Burleson, a pediatric nurse practitioner and a wonderful supporter of the work at Goodwood. Doug and Kristi have two children: a daughter (Eden Karoline) and a son (Canaan Douglas). Doug graduated from Freed-Hardeman University with a B.A. in Bible with university honors in December of 1999 and his M.A. in New Testament in May of 2001. Doug also obtained a Master of Divinity degree from David Lipscomb University in May of 2003 and a Master of Theology from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2007. He has spoken in various places on lectureships, at youth rallies, and as a guest speaker in local congregations. He is now in the dissertation stage in his pursuit of a PhD in New Testament in New Orleans.
