Goodwood church of Christ

Peggy Moragne was born in Baton Rouge which makes her a “lifelong” member of this congregation. She was baptized at North Boulevard by Bob Hendren in 1970 and recalls being part of an “awesome” youth group.  She credits being raised in a Christian family with good parents and grandparents as having played a major role in her coming to faith. Her grandfather, Hal Payne, and father, Burt Payne, both served as elders of this congregation.  Peggy graduated from Harding University in 1980. 

One of the most joyous memories she holds of Goodwood was when her good friend Frank Moragne was baptized. She recalls that because of his coming to faith, it allowed them to marry and enjoy six wonderful years together. Although Peggy does not have children of her own she is “Maw-Maw” through Frank to four granddaughters and two grandsons and feels blessed to remain close to his family after his death in October, 2002.

Peggy became our full-time secretary in December, 2005.  She feels truly blessed to be a part of this congregation and cherishes the people here. She prays that we will continue to grow and work for the Lord in this community.
